Craftsmanship
Slowly, by hand, and checked twice.
The five steps
01
Choosing the parts
Each watch starts as a tray of parts: case, crystal, dial, hands, movement and strap. Every part is inspected before it is used. Anything with a mark, a scratch or a loose tolerance goes back.
02
Assembly
The dial is fitted to the movement and the hands are set by hand, aligned to the indices at every hour. The movement is then cased, and the crown and stem fitted and checked for a clean action.
03
Regulation
Timekeeping is measured on a timing machine in several positions and adjusted before the case is closed. It is measured again after closing, to be sure nothing moved.
04
Inspection
Under a loupe we check the dial, hands and crystal for dust and marks, the case for finish, and the strap and buckle for fit. The watch then runs for a day before a final check.
05
Packing
It is set to the correct time, wound and packed with its care guide, ready to wear the moment you open the box.
Materials
Chosen to last.
316L steel
The stainless steel used for cases: hard-wearing, resistant to corrosion and kind to skin.
Sapphire crystal
Far harder than mineral glass, so it resists the small scratches of everyday wear.
Calf leather
Soft from the first day, and it darkens slowly with wear. Straps are easy to change.
